Random Thoughts: Change, Primary Sources & Other Stuff

TIES 2007

Posted on: December 11, 2007

Smart boards, new ISTE standards, Research Project Calculator and Web 2.0 are just a few of the “hot topics” I’ve been interested in at this year’s TIES. I picked up a few ideas to use in my online teaching and a few ideas to share in K-12. I’m excited about Pixie graphic software for our elementary schools, InspireData for high school, and World Book Advanced for the district. Most interesting to me is to reflect on how the conference has changed throughout the years. We no longer see a lot of stand alone software being demonstrated; there are fewer sessions on staff development. The vision to empower learners continues.
